IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE If you use the City’s orange trash bags and yard waste bags please note the following: At the September 20, 2010 meeting, the Lowell City Council will be considering trash, recycle and yard waste services. There is a possibility that the City may change haulers on December 1, 2010, so please do not over purchase trash and yard waste bags at this time. A notice will be posted in the Lowell Ledger, Buyers Guide and City web page (www.ci.lowell.mi.us) if there is a change. Thank you, NOTICE TO BIDDERS Notice is hereby given that the City of Lowell, Michigan will receive sealed bids up to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010: MUNICIPAL REFUSE COLLECTION AND DISPOSALThe work consists of furnishing all necessary labor, supervision, equipment and supplies for the collection and transportation of municipal refuse, recycling and yard waste in the City of Lowell to disposal site (licensed landfill or transfer station) provided for by the contractor. A statement of proposal requirements and conditions, a proposed contract, and all other contract documents may be obtained at the office of the City Clerk during regular working hours. A certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond in an amount of $500 payable to the City of Lowell, must accompany the proposal. The City of Lowell reserves the right to reject any or all bids and also the right to waive any formal defects in bids when deemed in the best interest of the City. Further, the City reserves the right to accept a bid higher than the lowest bid, if the City’s interest will be better served. Mail bids to: Betty R. Kaleidscope of Flavors The purpose of this new event “Kaleidoscope of Flavors” is to help the community learn about our non-profit organizations. There are 23 non-profits participating at 14 different locations. Our goal is to have fun activities, food, displays and information at organization locations. Community members will visit the sites and see first hand what each participating organization is all about. This event is geared toward persons of all ages! Community Members will use a punch card as they visit each location to have a chance to win a Grand Prize Basket filled with goodies and gift certificates. Lowell Rotary Club Representatives of the City of Lowell will be in your area gathering information about properties within the City Limits. They will be interviewing residents to gather basic property information, taking digital photos and making sketches of the exterior all structures in the City allowing all parcel information to be stored electronically. City Clerk The Lowell Cable Television (LCTV) Fund is a nonprofit endowment fund established on September 17, 2007 by means of the sale of the assets of Lowell Cable Television. A portion of the annual investment earnings are distributed in agreement with the Grand Rapids Community Fund and may be available for grants each year. The LCTV Board was created to solicit and review grant applications for projects that benefit the Lowell Area including the City of Lowell, LowellTownship and Vergennes Township.
